The NYTimes has released a “guide” to NYC coffee-shops, ie. places I cannot live without. However large the listing might be, these three spots below are those that I seem to have on heavy rotation down here in Soho. Bottoms up!

1. City Girl Café
63 Thompson St.
I appreciate that this café brews various Stumptown blends now, rather than just the one type that they opened with. Sorta off the beaten path, it’s tiny, and charming. Splurge on the magic brownie.

2. Porto Rico Imports
107 Thompson St.
This venerable downtown coffee institution has been importing and roasting beans since 1907, and I happen to think their hazelnut coffee is to die for.

3. Ground Support
399 West Broadway
Chill atmosphere, large space with picnic tables that are conducive to working or having meetings. The coffee is well-priced for the quality of the Intelligentsia Coffee they have on hand.
